A program that brings together two seemingly distant worlds. Béla Bartók’s Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta is one of the masterpieces of the 20th century: a rigorous sonic architecture, obsessive rhythms, and an inescapable sense of unease. Following this, Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4, “Romantic,” opens up a completely different landscape—vast, luminous, suspended between nature and transcendence. Two worldviews in contrast, in a single evening.
